The Life Behind the Words

Alan N. Webber has spent a lifetime in motion—both on the open road and in the realms of imagination. A veteran of the transportation industry, Alan helped to build a transport network spanning multiple platforms before shifting gears into writing. Now semi-retired, he channels decades of lived experience into stories that blend grit, grief, mystery, and myth.

His novels, Whipping Post and Roll Me Away, follow trucker-turned-reluctant-hero Tim Harrison through heartbreak and danger. These aren’t just thrillers—they’re meditations on love, loss, and the American road. Alan is currently working on the third book in the trilogy.

But that’s not all. Alan’s passion for the eerie and the elegant also led him to craft several Victorian Gothic novellas—literary tributes to the likes of Poe, Stoker, and Conan Doyle. These shorter works, rich with atmosphere and historical echoes, are available on Amazon and other platforms.

Beyond the books, Alan maintains a blog Included within this blog are Alan’s short stories, reflections, newsletters, and the occasional ghost.

He lives surrounded by stories—real and imagined—with his wife, four children, and twelve grandchildren. When he’s not writing, you’ll likely find him on the golf course, futilely trying to master the game.
